Our client, for this weeks 'Ring of the Week', requested a contemporary, four claw solitaire engagement ring. The engagement ring needed to be created so that it could accommodate an existing 14 kt White Gold wedding band. To ensure the engagement ring would be a perfect fit for the wedding band, we completed a 3D scan of both. This would give an accuracy that would be necessary to facilitate the flush fit 'bridal set'. The engagement ring features a Cathedral style shank with a 'tricked up' gallery rail for that added level of detail. It has a hyperbolic paraboloid shape (or 'pringle'/saddle shape). The curve of the rail mirrors the bridge curvature and is contrasted by the curvature of the Cathedral lips. In doing so, it gives this ring that extra design element and finesse when looking through the front ring view.
